Member Dues (in U.S. dollars)

One Year: Just $25!
Two Years: $45 (Save $5)
Three Years: $65 (Save $10)
Four Years: $85 (Save $15)
Five Years: $100 (Save $25)
Lifetime Membership: $625 (One-time payment)

Term

Our annual membership year runs from April 6 (Tartan Day in North America) through April 5 the next year. For those new members who join during the months of July 1 through April 5, your membership will not expire until the next full membership year (example: join October 1, 2024 then expire April 5, 2026).

Member Benefits
  • Your spouse and children under age 18 are included in your membership at no extra cost

  • The Shank Bone e-newsletter, full of rich stories and photos, emailed to members on a quarterly basis

  • $100 clan tent stipends 

  • Grant funding of up to $400 to support your MacKinnon/Scottish-related cultural endeavor

  • Networking at our biennial Clan Gathering and virtual General Meeting

  • A 10% discount on merchandise from our online store (20% discount for Lifetime Members)

  • Those who become Lifetime Members receive all of the above benefits in addition to a certificate for display, a lapel pin (gold finish), and The Scots: A Photohistory -- ​a beautiful coffee table book by the late Murray MacKinnon

  • The knowledge that you are helping to keep MacKinnon history and legacy alive for this and future generations!

 

Additionally, as a Clan Partner of National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA (NTSUSA), the Society can pass on savings to our Society members. If a Society member decides as an individual to join NTSUSA, they can now do so at a 15% discount. Members of NTSUSA enjoy free admission and parking at all National Trust for Scotland properties, and free or discounted admission at all National Trust properties worldwide, including those in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. NTS properties include: Culloden, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Bannockburn, castles, museums, battle sites, and more.

Honorary Members

Through nominations from members or the Board of Directors, Clan MacKinnon Society seeks to bestow a special recognition upon individuals or entities that promote the MacKinnon name, unite MacKinnons around the world, champion Scottish culture and history, etc. Those listed below have made the Society and Clan MacKinnon proud. As such we have given them the title of Honorary Members of Clan MacKinnon Society. (Individuals/entities are listed along with the year in which they were honored.)
